Srinagar, March 6: Police on Tuesday said that it arrested three persons with charas weighing more than four kilograms at Bijbehara in Anantnag district of Kashmir valley.
Sources in police said, “Acting on a tip-off, Police last evening arrested a lady, Zareena wife of Nisar Ahmad Sheikh and her accomplice Shabir Ahmad Sheikh son of Nisar Ahmad Sheikh both residents of Hawal, Srinagar, near Sangam-Bijbehara”, adding that the duo was in possession of one kilogram of charas which was recovered by the police on spot.
Meanwhile, during a routine check, police arrested Mohammad Shafi Dar son of Hassan Dar resident of Tulkhan, Bijbehara near his native village and recovered high grade charas weighing more than three kilograms, sources said.
“Following these recoveries, Case FIR Nos. 59 and 60 of 2012 under section 8/20 of Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances-Act (NDPS) have been registered at Police Station Bijbehara and further investigations are on”, police sources added.
