Srinagar: In a second incident of its kind within a week, an Advance Light Helicopter (ALH) crashed near Leh airfield. However, there was no loss of life reported.
“The ALH was on a routine sortie,” a senior army official said. “However soon after it took off from Leh airport, it developed some snag and it crashed.”
But he said both the pilot and co-pilot were safe. “They have received minor bruises,” officer said. “The court of inquiry has been called into the incident to ascertain the causes of cash”.
The army official said the incident happened at around 3 pm.
Pertinently, on Dec 14, an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter crashed soon after taking off from Jammu airport, injuring seven IAF personnel and two civil engineers.
