Srinagar: Normal life in Kashmir was affected on Tuesday following a strike call given by Hurriyat Conference (G) to protest against Delhi Police's restriction order against its Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani barring him from leaving the capital.
While shops and business establishments in Lal Chowk, a commercial hub, and adjoining areas remained closed, the shutdown call was partially observed in civil lines area of the city and other suburbs, official sources said.
Movement of traffic was also affected but commercial and private vehicles were plying on some routes in the city.
Various district headquarters including, Baramulla, Islamabad (Anantnag) and Shopian also observed a complete shutdown.
