Amid allegations that a minor boy has been detained under the Public Safety Act, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said the best way to determine his age was to conduct a medical test.
"Best way to settle any doubts is to order a medical examination to certify the age. I''ve seen too many fake certificates," Omar wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.
He was responding to allegations that 14-year-old Faizan Rafiq Hakeem of Islamabad (Anantnag) has been detained in the Kashmir Valley under the PSA, which provides for detention of a person for up to two years without a trial.
Though police claim that Faizan''s age is about 20 years, his school records show him as being only 14
