The Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Wednesday held a detailed meeting with Pakistan High Commissioner Shahid Malik in New Delhi.
Geelani who had been invited on Pakistan Day function by the Pakistan High Commission congratulated Malik on the occasion and conveyed his wishes to the people of Pakistan. Talking to KNS, Hurriyat spokesperson, Ayaz Akbar said, “Geelani sahib told Shahid Malik that for solution of Kashmir, strong Pakistan is a must.”
“Geelani also urged Malik that during foreign level talks between India and Pakistan, Kashmir should be made core issue,” Ayaz said.
During his 45-minute meet with Malik, Geelani expressed serious concern over the prevailing situation in Pakistan.
Sources told Greater Kashmir that Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq were seen sitting together for 15 minutes.
